punters. Betfred set to take 3 per
cent more from win betting pools."TOTE punters are to be hit by
a cut in dividends after it was announced on Tuesday that the amount taken from
the win-betting pool before
winnings are paid out will
increase from October 22. Deductions will rise to 16.5 per cent from 13.5 per
cent from Monday week.
"It is the first change to the win
pool deduction rate since the Tote chairman Peter Jones reduced it from 16 per cent in March 2003. It also marks the most radical change to
