RP DAVID CARR TODAY'S BIG TALKING POINT

"RIVERSIDE repeat would be pure theatre.

David on "the Henderson star who charms many of us, returns to Ascot with a big act to follow. Yes, Yes, Yes  RIVERSIDE THEATRE partner BARRY GERAGHTY wins at 13-8, no problem. A huge achievement for all the team at Seven Barrows.

"No matter how good you are, you always need a bit of match practice. Even Lance Armstrong would not have expected to win another Tour de France if his racing bike had hung up in the garage since the previous years saunter up the Champs - Elysees. And staying in Paris, nor would Rafael Nadal believe he could land back- to- back French Open crowns without swinging a racket in anger in between times.

Which rather illustrates the task facing RIVERSIDE THEATRE in the £150,000 Betfair Ascot Chase as Saturday jump racing returns with a bang with £445.000 up for grabs in seven races live on Channel 4.

" RIVERSIDE THEATRE'S victory in the race last year, when he quickened clear for an easy success by ten lengths and 11, created an impression to live long in the memory - which was just as well because we have not seen him since as he has been sidelined by a stress fracture of the pelvise.

"Trainer Nicky Henderson buoyed by yesterday's victories for LONG RUN and SPRINTER SACRE, reports that everything has been going well and encouragingly BURTON POST finished a fine second to LONG RUN after a long break yesterday."

C4 HORSERACING TEAM THIS MORNING ARE:

NICK (Lord Snooty) LUCK Host Presenter
Nick introduces us to this morning's Star Guest Tom Segal. Nick the power packed presenter who brings everything together.
GUEST STAR TOM (Pricewise)  SEGAL The Punters Champion
TOM tells us that the jockey to partner his selection or selections is always his number one priority, being the last human factor to influence which horse he picks.

Tom highlights a key factor relating to LONG RUN'S jumping performance, that he is likely to loose concentration when other runners crowd him on the run in to a fence. This can effect novice chasers in general, until they have gained further racing experience, confidence and understanding as to the task in hand. Placing the responsibility in the hands of the rider/jockey to take extra care throughout the race to make sure to allow his horse the room he needs. Which SAM WALEY-COHEN manage well yesterday.
Pricewise Tips Tom Segal Racing Post Second in our Series of Top Tipsters and Professional Gamblers in the UK is Tom Segal aka Pricewise. The Pricewise racing tips are available daily as he is the main racing post tipster. Pricewise tipping is well known. Tom Segal is the man behind Pricewise. So who is Tom Segal? Tom took over from Mel Collier as Price wise Racing Post tipster in the Summer of 2001. Tom Segal was already working at the Racing Post and had been called Spotform and would stand in for Collier when he was on holiday. Tom Segals best run of Pricewise tipping in the Summer of 2005 when he bagged winners on 10 consecutive Saturdays. It was said that the run of Pricewise selection winners was hitting the profits of William Hill.

BLACK CAVIAR lands 19th victory in Lightning
By Nicholas Godfrey 5:17AM 18 FEB 2012

Report: Australia, Saturday
Flemington: Coolmore Lightning Stakes (Group 1) 5f, turf, 3yo+

THE brilliant Black Caviar (Peter Moody/Luke Nolen) duly won again as she cut back in trip to 5f at Flemington on Saturday - but the Lightning Stakes was a rarity for the mare as she was made to work for a victory that equalled the Australasian city record of 19 consecutive wins.

WHERE IS THE BRITISH HORSERACING AUTHORITIES (BHA)
BLOODHORSE LITERATE WHIP REVIEW?

JMC TURFCALL COMMENT
Very mean to only provide a Bloodhorse Illiterate Whip Review surely ... If mean is the right word. How do the BHA expect the handler/ riders they license to ride in this country to be forced into using Bloodhorse Illiterate Whip Rules?

THE WHOLE STRUCTURE OF BRITISH HORSERACING IS IN A TOTAL BLOODHORSE ILLITERATE MESS
Mr Bittar's lip service herewith shows that he has absolutely no idea of the scale of menace burdened by the BHA upon all those who have achieved true bloodhorse literacy.

How on earth can the new British Horseracing Authority (BHA) chief executive Paul Bittar possibly believe that he can end the whip row when he is bloodhorse illiterate himself? The whole bloodhorse illiterate structure of the way British horseracing is being run, and has been left to run over the last 5 decades is totally terrifying. Most certainly totally terrifying for the horses, who are left to bare the brunt of all the related issues that manifest themselves through BHA bloodhorse illiteracy.

Bittar says "I have no interest in one of our rules being the public focus during a great festival so we're hoping to have that resolved. I think in general, the riders have made a huge effort to fall into line with the new rules."

But how are you going to cope Mr Bittar if as has happened every year, over the last ten years, a considerable  number of horses are left lying dying where they fall out on the Cheltenham race track or so badly hurt they loose their lives out there, or days later.

Every licensed rider competing at the 2012 Cheltenham Festival needs to be warned  before leaving the weighing room before every single race to take far more care of each runner than has happened in the past. Owners do not want their horses to loose their lives or be crippled for life.

But why Mr Bittar should any licensed bloodhorse literate handler rider be expected by anyone  including yourself to adapt their riding to suit bloodhorse illiterate whip rules?Drawn up at considerable cost by bloodhorse illiterate regulators?  More to the point where are the bloodhorse literate whip rules Mr Bittar?

Bittar goes on to say  "I think it's unarguable that the penalty structure doesn't quite fit the crime."

"Doesn't quite fit the crime ....?  It's the bloodhorse illiterate regulators who are the ones committing the crime and abuse against licensed bloodhorse literate handler/riders and one of those is Bittar himself.   There is a massive BHA derelict zone of bloodhorse illiteracy where bloodhorse literacy is totally vital, but is found to be totally void. How have these BHA regulators got away with such blatant negligence, ongoing over such a long time? How much longer are they to be allowed to go on trashing British horseracing? How much longer are  they to be allowed to go on abusing handler riders? How much longer are they going to be allowed to abuse the owners horses?  How much longer are they to be allowed to abuse all handler riders who come here from other countries? Who come here from other countries to compete?
