LORD COE has been involved in athletics since his school days . His biggest inspiration came when he watched John and Sheila Sherwood compete in the 1968 Games in Mexico, but the person who influenced him the most was his father, "he was my coach and key figure in my life my father was an engineer by trade which gave him a forensic eye for detail and meant he was open to advances in training techniques. He taught me to go beyond my personal best."
