TIME TO SAY GOODBYE, THE CURTAIN COMES DOWN AT GLORIOUS GOODWOOD 2010
TIME TO SAY GOODBYE, the curtain comes down on a spectacular, fantastic, fascinating, miraculous and wondrous five days racing from Glorious Goodwood covered live so beautifully for us by the Channel4 Horseracing Team. As M’s and Cat bow out, M’s sums this whole meeting up as follows:
i. Broadcasting History The First Televised Stewards Inquiry shown live on Channel4 today after the running of the 3.05 Blue Square Nassau Stakes (Group 1) (Fillies and Mares) (Class 1) Winner £122,169.04 (One hundred and twenty two thousand, one hundred and sixty nine pounds and 4 pence.) Run over 1 mile 2 furlongs, won by MIDDAY TOM QUEALLY trainer Henry Cecil for K Abdulla. From in second place STACELITA CHRISTOPHE SOUMILLON trainer J-C Rouget (FR) for Martin S Schwartz.
ii. In the closing stages with the fillies tiring, MIDDAY got lonely and wandered a bit taking the ground slightly of STACELITA, however no harm was done and the placing remained unaltered. TOM QUEALLY received a two day suspension for careless riding which will kick in, in 14 days time.
iii. Channel 4 Broadcasting History. The Acting Stewards at this inquiry where:
Adrian Pratt, John Paxman and Stewards’ Secretaries’ (stipendiaries)

However the second part of this inquiry was not shown at all. The part that takes place still in secret when the stewards decide amongst themselves what the outcome must be.
