SIMON ( Languid) HOLT HORSERACING COMMENTATOR, PRESENTER.
Bloodhorse illiterate. “From the beginning of 1995 Simon was heard regularly, sometimes as
as race commentator but sometimes in the now defunct job of betting and results reader. He replaced Raleigh Gilbert as Channel 4's second commentator, calling the first part of the race at tracks such as Newmarket before handing over to Goode in the grandstand. Goode at that time remained Channel 4's main race commentator, but in the late 1990’s Holt covered more and more races such as the Whitbread Gold Cup and the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown Park.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Holt_(commentator)
HORSERACING A UNIQUE AND REMARKABLE SPORT
PAUSE FOR THOUGHT

THE JOCKEY CLUB OWNED CHELTENHAM RACECOURSE AND THE RECENT FOUR DAY CENTENARY FESTIVAL MEETING HELD THERE EARLIER THIS MONTH.
COMMENT. PENDING question’s spring to mind regarding the money that the Inland Revenue take out of horseracing, as there cut from the recent Cheltenham Festival and all other racecourses gross profits, leaving Cheltenham with the net amount. So where is this money going to exactly, is anyone allowed to know? What are the government and the Cheltenham racecourse and many other racecourses spending this money on exactly, is anyone allowed to know? Money earned off the backs of other people and their horses is ‘Blood Money.”
IT could be said that the 'Bloodhorse Illiterate' governing MP'S together with the Bloodhorse Illiterate management parties at the Cheltenham racecourse are ripping off the Bloodhorse Literate achievers, eg all the professional Bloodhorse Literate handler rides (What there are left of them) who go to make up the licensed trainers teams. To cheat such professionals by calling them “Grooms” or “Stable Staff” is another misleading rip off practice. This daylight robbery ongoing over decades is rather like calling a Harley Street Specialist , a Cloakroom Attendant.
Young ones just starting out in life are being ripped off big time by greedy governments and greedy racecourses.
We are led to believe that the main aim now for what is termed the British Multi Billion Pound Horseracing Industry is to get the public interested so as when they are allowed some time off from work all their families can have a day out at the races. To allow the Government, the Jockey Club and the British Horseracing Authority to help themselves to even more money. Money earned off the backs of other people and their horses is ‘Blood Money.”
One would have thought that all senior Bloodhorse Literate handler riders working within licensed trainers teams travelling and presenting runners to the public at the recent Cheltenham Festival need true and honest recognition for the part that they play at the dangerous sharp end of racing in getting horses prepared for competition on the track, by way of this Government, the Jockey Club and Cheltenham Racecourse’s profits a gift gesture to give each and every one a £1,000.00 cheque. That all handler riders working to obtain Bloodhorse Literacy receive £500.00 from the Government along with Cheltenham Racecourse .... The Governments Pay Back Time after decades of abuse.
A few years back the Office of Fair Trading found that the Jockey Club were not legally entitled to regulate and run racing due to the fact that they owned so many of the best racecourses. This is how the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) came into being.
One would have thought that the British Horseracing Authority would not be renewing training licenses, or granting new training licenses unless the applicant could prove that he/she was Bloodhorse Literate and that he/she could prove that there was to be an acceptable number of top Bloodhorse Literate people employed within their team, inclusive of remuneration to match expertize to be confirmed and paid accordingly. To ensure safety, at the dangerous sharp end of racing, in each and every licensed trainers establishment. To put an end to exploitation.
At present and throughout the last decades, all those who work at the dangerous sharp end of horseracing, their rights and needs have not been accounted for properly at all, by Government, by Racecourses, by the Jockey Club or by the present British Horseracing Authority. No True Bloodhorse Literacy balance within all these 4 departments. The missing link, to the British racing jigsaw, by its very omission.

HENRY CECIL EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW BROUGH SCOTT (Bloodhorse Literate) REPORTS:
“The master trainer opens up to Racing Journalist of the Year Brough Scott about his hopes and dreams for Classic favourite FRANKEL and the new season. Story, page 3. Interview pages 12-13.”
J.Margaret Clarke for Turfcall responds:
The life and times of HENRY CECIL a brilliantly talented extraordinary trainer in this day and age where we are in danger of loosing all our true horsemen due to 'Bloodhorse Illiteracy' rampant within the powers that be.
Henry tells Brough Scott "I like to understand what is happening, all staff have good and bad points and if you can get the best out of all of them you will be alright. That's why I do my own list (riding out list) every night or early morning. A head lad may not change a rider because the other lad will get grumpy and give him grief. But if you keep the wrong person on a highly strung animal the horse is going to go the wrong way. If I think we want a change, I change it. If anyone strikes a horse here, they don't get a warning, they are out straight away, or you get horses soured up. And you have to be careful of people who think they are jockeys and ride horses too fast to find out for themselves. I have really good head staff and have spies in the string . If I hear it is happening I tell them I'm the man who is training the horses."

“GODOLPHIN FIREPOWER Latest on the Classic hopes. Horse -by –horse guide”
GRAHAM DENCH REPORTS:
“MAKTOUMS: we’ll shun races that fail to meet tariffs. SHEIKH MOHAMMED yesterday issued a resounding vote of support for the controversial race tariffs introduced in Britain this year – support that could deny his horses a run in a host of top races.” “We will be supporting the tariffs said Simon Crisford, racing manager to the sheikh’s Godolphin operation yesterday.”
