TAKING A CLOSER LOOK AT THE CHANCES OF MONBEG DUDE
2.55 Owner details 7 3P-U11 MONBEG DUDE 10-12 (138) Michael Scudamore50

MONBEG DUDE purchased by Mike Tindall at a Cheltenham Racecourse Auction three years ago for £12,000 and now in training with Michael Scudamore (jnr) owned by Tindall and his two Rugby pals Nicky Robinson and James Simpson-Daniel.

Following the excitement of MONBEG DUDES  recent victory in the Welsh National at Chepstow with PAUL CARBERRY aboard, and despite an erratic but brave jumping performance to win, it has been revealed that MONBEG DUDE has had pelvic injuries in the past, it was feared that in jumping he may have tweaked an old injury, top physio Mary Bromiley was called in to check him over.

MONBEG DUDE 8 10-12 partner PAUL CARBERRY team up again this afternoon this time tackling the big unforgiving Haydock Park fences.

Lets hope that Carberry and Monbeg Dude know each other that little bit better now, and can help each other succeed again, in this Betfred Grand National Trial worth £42,712.50 to the winner, run over 3m4f  in going that is stated to be heavy. Very much wait and see on the jumping front.

REVIEW OF MONBEG DUDE'S PERFORMANCE

2.55 Betfred Grand National Trial (Handicap Chase) 3m4f. 14 ran
3rd MONBEG DUDE (IRE) 8 10-12 partner PAUL CARBERRY  8-1
CARBERRY picked his path carefully at the back of the field allowing MONBEG DUDE to sight each fence without fear of interferance, his jumping good, did well. Gave 1st and 2nd 12lb and 10lb respectively. The DUDE will have learned a lot, quietly without any hastle, made his move at 14th picking up to finish 3rd. Yes, yes,  yes.
