Great gran's amazing Scoop6 success
By David Carr
"A GREAT GRANDMOTHER who
staked just £2 and chose her horses by
their names could today become one of the biggest winners in the history of the
Scoop6.
"Geraldine Hughes, from
Hoylake in Merseyside, who has 19 grandchildren, won £154,782 last Saturday to
earn a crack at a £702,010 bonus which she will collect if she picks the winner
of one of today's races.
"The 67-year-old mother of
six, who also has four great-grandchildren, missed her first five winners as
she was watching a Liverpool 's 5-1 win over
Arsenal on television with her family.
"She said: "I was
delighted with the Liverpool result but we had
the family round for the game so I wasn't able to watch the racing. I kept up
to date with my picks via text on TV and when I got the first five up I had
them all watching the last leg with me.
"The biggest priced winner was
Splash Of Ginge in the big race at Newbury at 33-1 and I only picked that as my
brother Paddy had a lovely mop of red
hair when he was a boy.
"I was on Rigolotto in the
last leg and when he burst out of the starting stalls before the race I thought I had lost. But he was withdrawn and classes as a non-runner so my ticket went
on the favourite My Kingdom and he won.
"It was fantastic and I've not
been able to sleep since the win. It is unbelievable and what made it even more incredible was
when my husband Wally rang me the next day to tell me that I'd has a £100,000
bonus added to my win as we'd put the bet on with Betfred. He'd red about in
the Racing Post. He was on his way to Richard Fahey's stables in Malton with
our sons Stephen and John when they spotted the article.
"I've had four winners before
but never six. My best wins before this have been a few hundred pounds on the
placepot. This is life-changing for us and now we've got another £702,000 bonus
to aim for today and I really can't believe that. "
"Explaining how she came to
choose her winners, Hughes said: "I picked Upswing as we're just round the corner from Hoylake
Golf Club. The second leg was Gregori and the next was Indian Jack and I picked
them as they are boys names and I like horses with boys' names.
"I went for Splash Of Ginge
and in the fifth leg I had Rivellino-a Brazilian footballer who's a year older
than me. Then I got the biggest bit of luck when my horse burst out of the
stalls and I ended up on My Kingdom.
"Betfred boss Fred Done, who
created Britain's first betting shop millionaire when Stuart Boland from Great
Manchester won the Scoop6 in October 2004, said: "Our biggest ever female
Scoop6 winner was Agnes Haddock, who landed £688,620 after placing her £2 in
the betting shop in Northwich, Cheshire, in February 2007.
"But if Geraldine lands the
bonus she will take her crown as Britain 's most successful female gambler on the horses and all for £2. Geraldine
has already collected a £100,000 bonus for placing £2 bet directly with Betfred
in the shop and now she's looking at an even bigger bonus. "
"The bonus has grown to more
than £700,000 after rolling over since August 19. "

Scott Burton report in the Racing Post on Thursday:
Lord Stevens commissioned by global racehorse owner and breeder Sheikh Mohammed (UAE) (Godolphin) to take a closer look into this matter, which caused an unjust dishonest worldwide scandal.
Turfcall J Margaret Clarke Comment Fact: Part One:
"Al Zarooni acted alone? Over medication classed as a drug by the bloodhorse illiterate British political and horseracing government. Government out of touch with the true reality of the Equus Zone. Government who provide a muddled and confused leadership to one of the greatest global sports in the world today. British government who can't be bothered to ensure that the true rules of British horseracing exist. To say nothing about the global rules of horseracing. Which to date do not exist either.

THE VERY FIRST
QUESTION NEEDED HERE:
IS THIS A BLOODHORSE LITERATE ISSUE?
OR IS THIS A BLOODHORSE ILLITERATE ISSUE?
The same as the one surfacing in Nigel
Twiston-Davies recent predicament of a horse being warned off for nine months by a bloodhorse illiterate government decision. A harsh invalid judgement was given. That now needs to be reversed. With a public apology needed.
A horse with a
bloodhorse literate problem was condemned instead by a bloodhorse illiterate
hearing. Resulting in a false unjust bloodhorse illiterate punishment
