JMC: Close home Realtra with Jack Mitchell in the saddle, did a little bit of drifting, in the  closing stages of the race taking the ground of several other runners in behind, causing a knock on effect. Interference, effecting not one, but several of the others that Mitchell couldn’t see being in front.  A steward’s inquiry was called, resulting in the placings to remain unaltered. But Mitchell did get an eight day penalty for careless riding, in failing to keep his filly straight.
