He has won eight of his twelve races at the course and I hear that he is better than ever. Adored by a nation we’ll all be crowding round our Racing UK screens at 3.20 to give him a cheer.

Paddy Mullins bequest the world of racing, his genius, his knowledge and a truly wonderful family. Peter O’Sullevan’s commentary of Dawn Run’s Cheltenham Gold Cup victory forever echoes in our hearts, I was lucky enough to be at the great racecourse to witness both her Champion Hurdle and Gold Cup. Her success was due to the tender care and wisdom of her trainer. Paddy Mullins was respected by all, he was a legend, condolences to is family and all who knew him well.

THE HENNESSY GOLD CUP MEETING AT NEWBURY 25th 26th and 27th November 2010
http://www.newbury-racecourse.co.uk/About-Newbury/Racecourse-History

We have Kingsclere trainer John Porter to thank when we come racing at Newbury on Hennessy Gold Cup day. Plus thanks also, to King Edward vii who helped Porter achieve his dream to build a racecourse at Newbury.

John Porter was born in Rugeley Staffordshire on March 2nd 1838. Leaving school in 1852 he had a holiday, before any definite arrangements were made toward career choice.

This holiday drifted on for 12 months. Resulting in a career choice in horseracing. Several stepping stones followed on along the way until destiny brought Porter to Park House Kingsclere. ( Home base for licensed trainer Andrew Balding now.)

Porter a highly successful Kingsclere trainer formed The Newbury Racecourse Company and purchased the land for the new track in April 1904 at a cost of £57,240 and the construction began.

On September 26th and 27th 1905 the first race meeting took place at Newbury Racecourse. With all the many wonderful race days since, through to the present day. John Porter achieved ‘Bloodhorse Literacy’ something that money cannot buy.

Throughout a horseracing lifetime, Porter’s work, shines out still for all of us to enjoy, especially on Hennessy Gold Cup Day (27.11,2010) A special Christmas treat for all who wish, to enjoy at Christmas time.

PAUSE FOR THOUGHT
THE RACING POST Totetentofollow – the jumps - 10 to follow launched to-day. Racing’s greatest competition. Bigger and better than ever! Pick your own 10 best horses. Last years’ winners landed a cool £442,000. https://ttf.totesport.com/

PEOPLE SKILLS IN THEORY AND IN PRACTICE NOT TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT BY ANY GOVERNMENTS, OR BY ANY BRITISH HORSERACING AUTHORITY REGULATORS. WHY?

The British Government, the British Horseracing Authority, and the World Banks all totally out of touch with the lives of all those who go out each and every day to work.

All those people that this government is forcing into poverty and forcing into homelessness. It was not so long ago that government were doing everything in their power to encourage people to purchase their own homes.

All those people whose hard earned cash was used to bale out the Banks. But why should these people bale out any bank? What has any bank actually ever done for them, other than ‘Rip them Off’?

David Cameron, Paul Roy and Bankers have never experienced homelessness or poverty. Yet we hear these people speaking daily through the media, dictating to others on how they should manage through loosing their jobs, their homes, and their whole livelihoods ...... What sort of a person is David Cameron? What sort of a person is Paul Roy? What sort of a people are these Bankers?
