thoroughbred racehorses in training is a high-risk business, applicable to all the handler riders who make up each and every licensed trainers’ team at home, just as much as on the racecourse.

Professional Footballer Players who make up each football team are well trained, and well paid. So how is it that all these professional handler riders who make up each and every licensed trainers team in horseracing are not getting well trained and well paid? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_4_Racing

PAUSE FOR THOUGHT

KIRSTEN RAUSING BACKS C4 JIM McGRATH’S GRAVE CONCERNS OVER THE BLOODHORSE ILLITERATE CONSULTANTS THAT ARE RUNNING BRITISH HORSERACING, UNBALANCING IT TO DANGEROUS AND SURE DESTRUCTION.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirsten_Rausing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_McGrath_(British_commentator

LAST SUNDAY (14.11.2010) THE RACING POST REPORTED AS JIM McGRATH SPEAKS UP TO JULIAN MUSCAT ON THE REASONS BEHIND HIS DECISION TO RESIGN FROM THE BRITISH HORSERACING AUTHORITIES (BHA) RACING COMMITTEE.

JIM HAD THIS TO SAY “A lot of people at Ascot and Newmarket won’t like me for saying it, but they should hang their heads in shame.” ‘Respected C4 racing presenter Jim McGrath tells Julian Muscat of the disillusion that led to him quitting his post as chairman of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) racing committee.’

LAST WEDNESDAY (17.11.2010) GRAHAM GREEN REPORTS FOR THE RACING POST:
“ RAUSING CALLS FOR HALT TO CHAMPIONS DAY PLAN.”

“THOROUGHBRED BREEDERS ASSOCIATION (TBA) CHAIRMAN BREAKS RANKS TO BACK McGRATH OVER RACING FOR CHANGE (RFC) MOVE.”

“RAUSING: INDUSTRY MUST PROTECT LONG TERM FUTURE. DARE I VENTURE TO SUGGEST THAT, IN THE CURRENT ECONOMIC CLIMATE, WOULD IT NOT BE WISE TO UNDERGO A REALITY CHECK AND GIVE SERIOUS CONSIDERATION TO DELAYING THESE PROPOSALS UNTIL RACING CAN BE MORE CONFIDENT ABOUT ITS FUTURE.”

RAUSING, “While short- term gimmicks might encourage the general public to flock to our racecourses, it is vital that we, the industry, ensure that we are doing the best we can for the long -term health for our sport.”

Newmarket trainer MARK TOMPKINS speak’s up to support McGRATH and RAUSING .http://www.marktompkins.co.uk/en/staff-profiles

National trainers’ federation (NTF) chief executive RUPERT ARNOLD appears to need removing along with the bloodhorse illiterate consultants. Together with all those who unbalanced the imput working within the British Horseracing Authority IF British horseracing is ever to be allowed to reach its true potential.

There has to be the correct balance. The present set up within the BHA remains to be severely unbalanced,
damaging the daily lives of all those who work at the dangerous sharp end to include the horses.
These consultants have failed to consider any of the key issues in regard to the horses needs, poor ground, foul weather ....etc

On 20th September John Gosden told the Racing Post “I’m in favor of doing anything to create a championship ... but I don’t think we are being bold enough. Squeezing it between Arc weekend and the Breeders’ Cup is not a good slot at all. There quite simply aren’t enough truly top-class horses to go round all those races.”

On 20th September Luca Cumani told the Racing Post “I am prepared to accept we want an end- of- season finale, and that Ascot is better equipped to host it than Newmarket. I hope it works, although I fear it will not.”

On 25th September Paul Cole told the Racing Post “There are not enough good horses to go round. By then a lot are injured or over the top. Ninety- five per cent of racing, which badly needs the money, will be looking on.”
