RACING POST INFO WEEK MONDAY AUGUST 29th TO
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 4th 2011

TODAY’S BIG TALKING POINT
ANDREW SCUTTS on the speedsters at Haydock and SO YOU THINK’S Champion bid
“Dream clash of sprinters sure to set pulses racing
“His name will be a standing dish in racing quizzes for years to come, having been the colt who triumphed for HAYLEY TURNER the first female rider to win a Group 1 in Britain outright.
“But is he the answer to the puzzle that is today’s  Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock? If only we could all dream ahead, we’d know. HAYLEY TURNER was the partner of DREAM AHEAD when both she and he enjoyed a day in the sun at Newmarket winning the Darley July Cup eight weeks ago.
“DREAM AHEAD was beaten a fair way in seventh in France last time, but that was over 7f and he has never lost over today’s trip of 6f.
“That statistic has carried him to the top of the market for today’s highlight in Britain – along with the defection, because of a dirty scope, of anti-post favourite DEACON BLUES – alongside HOOF IT, the pair quoted at 9-2 yesterday by the sponsor.
“Top golfer Lee Westwood and sports agent Chubby Chandler are the proud owners of HOOF IT, in partnership with trainer Mick Easterby, and, like DREAM AHEAD, 6f is also his best trip. Flick forward a few pages and you can read Easterby’s son David ‘s account of what HOOF IT might have made of a Coolmore Nunthorpe  Stakes that unfolded all to quickly for him. Forgive him that run over 5f and his case for compensation is strong. It is also worth underlining that the ground at York, was called into question by some.
"The consistent SOCIETY ROCK is another with strong claims, and he would be a winner with a nice tale, given what happened with stablemate DEACON BLUES. A popular result would be DELEGATOR, both for the misfortune he has suffered on various occasions, and because fans’ favourite FRANKIE DETTORI is in the saddle.

“DETTORI may notch another notable achievement today, thanks to the later off time of the Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown and the wonder of air transport. Via helicopter, he is also set to partner SNOW FAIRY in Ireland’s Group 1 offering at 6.45pm – a new start time being trialled in the hope of attracting vastly more television viewers.

“With a 1-3 favourite in SO YOU THINK, however, the race will take a lot of winning for DETTORI

“Punters will fall into two distinct camps. In the ‘He can’t be beat’ camp. SO YOU THINK’S price will not be offputting, for a winner’s a winner, right?
“But plenty more will take the view that either the race is one to savour without a bet, or take a punt on DETTORI working his magic on SNOW FAIRY.
“DETTORI has form when it comes to overturning odds-on shots in the Irish Champion. In 2001 he was at his best on FANTASTIC LIGHT in a thrilling finish with GALILEO, defeating  the 4-11 favourite by a head.

“DETTORI returned the following year to deny another Aiden O’Brien trained odds-on shot, riding GRANDERA to victory over HAWK WING, a horse who’s ability was overshadowed by hype.

“SO YOU THINK, who if he starts at 1-3 or shorter will be the skinniest favourite in the race since it moved to Leopardstown in 1991, arrived from Australia with plenty of hype himself, as befitting the winner of 5 Group 1’s.

“He has landed three of his four starts for O’Brien. He won the Coral- Eclipse and such is the expectation he will prevail today, thoughts are already on what might be next.

“Options include the QE11 and Champion Stakes at Ascot, and the Cox Plate. Then there’s the Group 3 Diamond Stakes at Dundalk. Wonder what price he’d be for that?

Scoop6 Races for September 3rd 2011

Tote have just released the Scoop6 races for this Saturday, 3rd September. They are: -
Race 1 : 2.30 Haydock Park
Race 2 : 2.45 Kempton park
Race 3 : 3.00 Haydock Park
Race 4 : 3.15 Ascot
Race 5 : 3.35 Haydock Park
Race 6 : 3.45 Ascot

There was no winner of the Scoop6 last Saturday. That is great news for you as the Win fund will start off this Saturday with £416,073 rolled over from last week and the Bonus fund starts at £178,317. Both these totals will grow rapidly as more stakes are placed. However, there will be a guaranteed £250,000 in the bonus fund if the bet is won on Saturday.
Therefore a single winner of the Win and Bonus Funds could scoop around £850,000!
All six races will be shown live on Channel 4.

The highlight of this weekend’s bet sees a field of 16 line up for a high-class renewal of the Group 1 Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock. July Cup winner Dream Ahead currently shares favouritism for the race at 9/2 with the sponsors alongside Hoof It, who will be looking to bounce back from an indifferent run in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York last time out.

“The totescoop6 continues to creep nearer the million pound mark and with Fred once again guaranteeing the bonus fund to the tune of £250,000, we reckon this weekend’s bet could be worth around £850,000,” said totepool spokesman George Primarolo.

Beat the rush and open an account with Totesport bookmakers, the home of the Scoop6, now. They currently have a great promotion running: – Sign up for a free Totesport betting account, using the links on this page, and get a £10 Free Bet! Full details of this offer can be found on the Totesport site.

Good luck everyone. Remember to return to Scoop6.co.uk on Saturday for live updates as the Scoop6 runs and to chat with other Scoop6 players.
