"FORMER Godolphin frontman Simon
Chrisford yesterday spoke of his excitement and enthusiasm over plans to realise his dream and reinvent
himself as a trainer' .
"Chrisford 52, announced he will train from Clive
Brittain's isolation yard at Carlburg Stables in Newmarket in a move that thrusts him back into the frontline of racing after
he had scaled down his role with Godolphin.
"Having spent more than 20 years
as Sheikh Mohammed's right-hand man in his role as racing manager at Godolphin,
Chrisford resigned from the post in February to become the Dubai operation's global racing advisor .
"However, yesterday he announced
his change in direction, saying: "The opportunity is here for me to do
what I always wanted to do . I'm at the right age to do something like this.
It's something I want to put 100 per cent effort into.

think Channel 4 Racing has improved consistently. It needs to continue to do that and I think it
will, but the fact is viewing figures are down. This is a concern for the whole
of racing, not just Channel 4. You only have to look at the figures for the
Grand National to know what your potential audience is.

is well documented the industry approves of certain people within Channel 4,
and there are certain people who they question.
But I have absolutely no doubt Channel 4 Racing is racing's greatest
marketing tool, so its very important it
punches its weight. "

concern is that we don't want to become like the US. They call the Kentucky Derby
the greatest two minutes in sport, but they hardly know the name of any other race because US racing never embraced terrestrial TV. We don't want British racing to go the same
way, so a lot of people need to get together and work out the things we can do
to make racing more accessible and easier to understand.

have been, and are to be chucked in for free says government. Government who take their pleasure at other peoples expense to include the horses expense. Government theft left on going over 6 decades
The
stumbling block is bloodhorse illiteracy within British political, legal,
racecourse and horseracing government. The true Equus horsemen who have over
the last 6 decades made horseracing what it is today, The reason why so many
flock to the Cheltenham Equus Festival and the Aintree Equus Grand National.
