J Margaret Clarke Turfcall Comment
Lewis Porteous: "SKY LANTERN Falmouth appeal dismissed' in serious error.
Equus Zone British horseracing and all those who provide it to include the horses, should not have to put up with BHA  governments legal abuse like this. Legal Abuse. Legal Cheating. That allows the sport of British Horseracing to be taken out of perspective and out of context. (RP 19.07.2013) More later

25 Two Year Olds line up for the 3.50 Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury  over 5f
An interesting race to observe, for future reference form for two year olds just starting out in their careers, with so much more to learn. Can Team Hannon win this? He has 3 chances with 3 runners? What do you think? Take notice what Ch4 Tanya has to say before the off.

Hearts will be racing this afternoon at Newbury, Newmarket and Market Rasen

PRESENTED BY NICK LUCK

GUEST CHAMPION JOCKEY FLAT TURF SUPERSTAR RICHARD HUGHES (2012)
Check out Richard's book of rides this afternoon at Newbury and see how he gets on.
Hughes' main provider of rides has been trainer Richard Hannon who is also his father in law and from 2001 to 2007 he was also retained by the owner Prince Khalid Abdullah. Hughes is 5'10" in height, very tall for a flat jockey. This means he has to maintain his weight significantly below natural levels, even for a jockey. Hughes' larger natural size means he cannot ride horses carrying light weights, reducing his winning opportunities. Richard Hughes is respected for his riding style of 'nursing' horses along, getting horses to respond and run into the race without appearing to physically ride them hard.[citation needed]
