CH4 Nick Luck asked yesterday's Morning Line superstar guest Charlie Swan. "How do you make them (the racehorses) do what you want them to do? "

This was a question impossible to answer in just a few words, even if that question was aimed at someone who has achieved true professional bloodhorse literacy in his own right as Charlie Swan.

 

It is impossible to force a racehorse in training to do anything at all. A racehorse in training can put his weight against such an imposter and flatten (the impostor) so fast the impostor wouldn't know what was going on. Could kill such an impostor.

Did you notice Paddy Power's new advert shown this morning '  live from the festival's 'Ladies Day'  during the Ch4 Morning Line program  from Cheltenham?  Specially for Cheltenham festival 2014  Paddy's Mum has her posh hat out ready.  Colourful,  (purple) and stylish, it is as well,  yes, yes, yes.  Even   .... wait for it .... even a smart new  hat is worn by one of Paddy's horses down circling at the start ready for the off, his horse is sporting a purple hat instead of blinkers ..... Do you think Paddy's Mum has borrowed it for the day, from our Queen Elizabeth 11?

Did you notice in yesterday's feature race the Champion Hurdle (3.20) that owner John P McManus fielded three out of the nine horses taking part?
